I had been running Giga studio on a PC and running my DP sequences from a Mac G4 single 867 processor. This was working pretty well until both my Mac and PC starting giving me trouble.
I've always disliked PC's but Giga was the only thing avaliable in the beginning. I recently purchased a new G5 dual 2.0, since my other Mac is in the shop and I was desperate to finish some projects. Now I'm starting to re-evaluate my setup. I do a lot of orchestral mock-ups and ideally I would like an all Mac setup with a second Mac functioning as a stand-alone sampler like my PC was doing. Is anybody out there doing this with success? Would running Mach 5 as a stand alone sampler be a decent option?
Thanks

Re: Stand alone Mac running Mach 5
At present, MachFive will not run stand-alone. I guess they need to add MIDI INs, but I've been told that it WILL and WILLNOT be added by different MOTU guys (sales and tech, respectively).

Version 2.0 will be able to run in standalone. The last I heard about progress on the 2.0 update was sometime near X-mas.
