I need help with my new Traveler mk3

Post by Maiten »

Hey guys,

I just purchased a MOTU Traveler mk3 audio interface, but my excitement was quickly replaced by a growing frustration.
Windows XP won't recognize the Traveler no matter what I do. At first I thought it's because of the firewire card, so I went ahead a bought a new one with a Texas Instrument chipset. No go. Both my previous firewire card and the new one provide bus power for the MOTU but Windows still won't recognize it.
I have read a lot of similar discussions in various forums before posting this but nothing helped. I tried disabling the 1394 network connection, reinstalling the firewire's drivers and downloading the latest MOTU drivers. Yet when I plug in the Traveler the computer doesn't respond, and when I run CueMix it just says: "No MOTU Audio Devices detected".

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm kind of going crazy here 8)

Thanks,
Matan

This is the message when I try to load Cuemix. My soundcard is a Ultralite mk3.

Ivan, are you launching Cuemix or Cuemix FX?

The Cuemix FX window that pops up when I don't have my mk3 attached says "No MOTU audio devices attached" -it doesn't look like yours.

As an addendum to jp's post, "Cuemix" and "Cuemix FX" are two different programs. You should install/use the latter with your mk3 device.

Go into Control Panel's "Sound" utility, and see if the MOTU inputs/outputs are listed. If so, the drivers are working, and it would appear you have the wrong Cuemix software installed. Install Cuemix from the CDROM you got with your device.
