Ultralite MK3 Problems WIN XP (no Motu Device Found)

Post by Flavio_Xpiral »

hello
my motu got serious problems!!

i m really sad to be here....i never expect to have this kind of problem with motu...

i have a ultralite mk3 (one before the hybrid) and i was working until nigth.....turned off my computer....in 2 hours i turned it on again...and the motu was not recognized by the computer...
i m using the bus power (pci firewire card) with cable 6-6 pin...it was working great since this happens...even in my notebook was working great (notebook i work with DC Power and 4-6 pin cable)

now when i turn on the computer the sound card also gets on, but with a strange message "Loading Audio Router". this message appears really fast after the message "Ultralite mk3 V 1.00", and before this happens, this message has never appear.

well, i have tried to change the cable....doesnt work, i installed it on another computer.....doesnt work...i changed the firewire ports....nothing

when i click on Motu Cue Mix or Motu Audio Console is says "No Motu audio device detected".

what s going on???i was working really good everything was so fine and working properly....and suddenly it does not work on any computer...

is there anyone who can help me because the tecnical support could not help me.
they want to me send them the sound carf but i live in brasil is so hard to send there....and i also dont know where s the receipt!!!

thanks for the attention

Sounds like a faulty firewire chip. You need to find a tech that has the tools and is experienced at repairing surface mount electronics. The chip that needs to be replaced is the TI firewire control chip that is located just behind the firewire ports. Unfortunately Motu don't share their schematic so your tech will just have to wing it.

Its actually not that hard to do if you have the equipment. But if not I think you are best to just send it back to Motu.
