Perplexing File Path Issue
i migrated some old projects onto a storage drive a few years ago.
i did not need to open them until now.
when i open them it states that there are files missing, but all of the files are in the audio files folder.
it is looking for a path of an old drive that is no longer there. (the original drive that the project was initiated).
is there a simple way to relink the "missing" to the corresponding files that exist in the audio files folder?
i work in final cut pro for my day job, and this can be done fairly simply.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!

Re: Perplexing File Path Issue
.
I've never dealt with this, but I think DP gives you a chance to tell it where the files are (in the same dialog box that alerts you of the missing files). You should be able to point DP in the right direction there easily.
Hopefully someone with actual experience doing this will chime in shortly.
Also, there's no need to post the same question twice in different forums.

Re: Perplexing File Path Issue
yes i solved it, thanks!
but in an unconventional way.
the problem only occurred in DP7.2.
i reopened the projects in 7.12 and they opened without a hitch.
i then re-saved them (duplicating all audio), and then opened in 7.2 with no issues.
thanks for your input.

Re: Perplexing File Path Issue
7.21 fixed this issue, and another very serious one when deleting unused soundbites. I would strongly suggest you install the 7.21 upgrade.kraigmason wrote:yes i solved it, thanks!
