I have a large orchestral template in DP with almost every VI responding to the same keyswitches from C0-B0 and C7-B7 depending on the target instruments range.
The only real fly in the ointment is LASS. I have all of LASS loaded up in Kontakt instrument banks with the individual patches responding to program changes which works fine in DP but it's a real pain in the ass and now that I have some time to revisit my template I'd like to see if I could do something on the DP side to incorporate LASS (and other Kontakt banks) into the same global keyswitching scheme.
The only solution I've found is using custom consoles to use notes to transmit program change messages but I can't figure out a way to restrict the range on the console module or at the track level in DP so I have to use a "dummy" track for keyswitches so the playable range doesn't interfere with the keyswitch range, not particularly elegant and useless for live keyswitching.
I just got off of the phone with MOTU and the stiff that I talked to over there had no suggestions or answers and basically just kept saying "DP won't do that". Very helpful.
Any ideas?
