Bounced Track adds unwanted FXs
I've just finished a mix where my bounced track sounds significantly different than what I monitor in real time. The bounced track presents as if a slap-delay has been added to the entire mix. Other descriptors: Ld Vox, kick, snare, and other parts sound panned right. The left side is sounding the slap-delay.
My routing is this:
Master Channel is sent to an Aux Track and then bussed to a Stereo Track.
In the Master Channel I have two plugins:
• SSL Compr (with slight finalizer setting)
• MOTU Trim (for peak monitoring)
Aux Channel has 2 plugins:
• MOTU TRIM (add 2.5 db)
• WAVES L2 (slight Limiting)
I have used this procedure many, many times and never had a problem. Does anyone out there have any insight?

Re: Bounced Track adds unwanted FXs
I don't have much insight, but I have a similar thing happening when I bounce a mix that has the AAS UltraAnalog synth in it - the patch changes back to its default settings, even though I've saved my own settings as a new preset. It does this during the BTD, so the bounced mix uses the wrong settings. FWIW, this happens in 7.21, 7.2, and 7.12, so it's not just a 7.2 issue. I haven't tried it in any version of DP prior to these.
The good news is, I can do the old reliable workaround -- a real time mix to a stereo audio track -- then bounce that mix to get the various other formats I need.
Aside from this problem, I'm crashing a lot with 7.21, especially if I delete too many Chunks. If I delete more than two at a time it will crash on Save, or if I delete one, then save, then delete another, then save, I can delete a total of four, but the next one will crash DP as soon as I save. Kind of irritating....

I don't know if UltraAnalog responds to patch changes or not. I wouldn't think so, but even still you might want to see if you've set a default patch in the default patch column in the Tracks Overview.waitsongs wrote:I don't have much insight, but I have a similar thing happening when I bounce a mix that has the AAS UltraAnalog synth in it - the patch changes back to its default settings, even though I've saved my own settings as a new preset.

Re: Bounced Track adds unwanted FXs
Thanks James. Great suggestion, but I haven't touched the default patch settings column (and nothing's showing up in there that I may have set accidently). The only weird thing I'm doing though is setting the bpm in UltraAnalog to half the sequence tempo as a quick way to cut the arpeggiation in half. Maybe this is user error to do it this way, but it plays back correctly until I bounce to disk. This isn't a killer issue for me, but I posted because I wanted to remind the O/P to try mixing to a stereo audio track as a workaround when BTD doesn't seem to deliver the desired results.James Steele wrote: I don't know if UltraAnalog responds to patch changes or not. I have mixed down to a stereo track (in real time) and still have the same problem.waitsongs wrote:This isn't a killer issue for me, but I posted because I wanted to remind the O/P to try mixing to a stereo audio track as a workaround when BTD doesn't seem to deliver the desired results.
I've been wondering if there is something wrong with the file itself. Is there a way to open a new file and load ALL the mixed items from the old file (including automation, plugin settings, levels, soundbites, etc.)?

Use the Load command for this. Check the options you wish to load (Bundles, Audio, etc.).ferchman wrote: Is there a way to open a new file and load ALL the mixed items from the old file (including automation, plugin settings, levels, soundbites, etc.)?
Have you checked your busses? Perhaps you have a duplicated output with different names in a bundle...
Mac Mini Server i7 2.66 GHs/16 GB RAM / OSX 10.14 / DP 9.52
Tascam DM-24, MOTU Track 16, all Spectrasonics' stuff,
Vienna Instruments SUPER PACKAGE, Waves Mercury, slaved iMac and Mac Minis running VEP 7, etc.

Re: Bounced Track adds unwanted FXs
I will check the buss assignments again. A duplicated buss routing would make sense. Thanks.
