MOTU 2408mkIII with Gigabyte board?

Post by Remeniz »

Well i've just acquired a MOTU 2408mkIII with a 424 PCIX card, should get it later this week.

I've seen a few issues regarding the Motu interfaces with Gigabyte boards. I'm gambling and taking a chance with my GA-EX58-UD5. Should I get any problems and I have to replace my motherboard what do you guys recommend? And is there anyone successfully running Gigabyte boards with Motu gear?

Cheers. :)

I don't think there should be a problem. Just install the driver and try it.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

I'm using an Ultralite Hybrid (mk3) with a Gigabyte GA-G33M. It uses a Texas Instruments chip for fireware. No problem. (But I'm not pleased with motu's 64-bit driver. It seems to cripple 24-bit playback to 16-bit, with 64-bit software. Haven't checked 32-bit software on win 64-bit. But 64-bit apps are coming. Motu needs to fix its drivers).

I totally forgot about this thread.

Anyway. I got my MotU 2408 Mk3 and PCI-X 424 card on Monday. Installed the software and drivers, shut down, inserted the PCI-X card, booted up and it's running brilliantly. This is with Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and a GA-EX58-UD5 Rev. 1 motherboard.

The whole point of this thread initially was to find out if anyone has MotU PCI cards/interfaces running successfully with Gigabyte boards as from what i've seen elsewhere MotU and Gigabyte are an impossible combination.
