Roland sample disk translations; tips?

Post by artfarm1 »

Hi all,

I'm a proud owner of Mach 5 now, and looking forward to getting my Roland library into my computer.

Any tips from any Roland translators regarding unnecessary sample dduplications?

Should I just translate the Programs in order to save sample duplications? Does Mach 5 do sample duplications if the same sound is in different Performances?

Any advice is most welcome!

Thanks, Cam Millar

I'm answering my own posting!....I've been translating my Roland disks today, and it's the best!!!

Their really is something to the great sound coming from the Mach 5 and the UVI machine....no problems with anything....sounds great, etc....better than I could have hoped for, considering my experience with a competitive translator (Chicken Systems). The CDxtract relationship with MOTU seems to be great, and they have the Roland sounds figured out as far as I can tell so far.

I checked off the box on the translation options to create a directory just like the original disk, and things stay in the same, familiar layout and ordering.

I'm sold on Mach 5. Thanks to MOTU for the great product!
