It doesn't appear that Mach V will work with DP 3 (and probably not 4 or 4.1) in DAE mode because those DP versions didn't support RTAS plugins and Mach V doesn't support "direct Connect".Mach V should work in the ProTools 5.x though because PT5 supports RTAS.
In DP 4.5 and after it should work, though because RTAS instruments have had some compatibility and latency problems in OS X in PT it's hard to know that DP 4.5, 4.52 or 4.6 will be free from problems. Maybe 4.52 supposed to improve RTAS support?
Early versions of Kontakt (i.e. 1.2) worked in Direct Connect mode with DP 3.1 in DAE mode. Sometimes opening a session would find the Direct COnnect routing had been forgotten (so be sure to note it on each Direct Connect Track - it's not too hard to restore then). Kontakt 1.2 has non standard protocols, and is a bit idiosyncratic to work with, but (touch wood) seems to basically work. One trick- once an instrument is opened in Kontakt 1.2 it ties up the memory even after deletion, until quiting Kontakt. Mach V imported a couple of formats that Kontakt 1.2 didn't (i.e. Kurzweil), but each have advantages and disadvantages- the main disadvatage to Kontakt 1.2 is whether you can get it at all now? (the updates from Kontakt 1 have been at the Kontakt site, but how do you get Kontakt 1?)
Hey, if anybody knows how to download OS X versions of Unity I would like to know (a different story as that company went out of business)

Don't know about an Ensoniq CD Rom- try checking Chicken Systems "Translator" if nothing else works.
