828MkII and stuttering / SL 10.6.4

Hi Folks

My old 828 MkII has begun stuttering it's playback audio... if I turn it off and on, it works again, sometimes for hours. My intuition is either 1) started when I began using Logic9 (had to for employer) or 2) internet audio screws something up. The sound it makes is dah_silence_dah_silence... Audio plays back correctly with internal output.

Any experiences with this? I might try resetting the unit... I have tried a new cable and port on my MP.
