diff between 10.4.11 and 10.6.4?

Post by climber »

obviously there are UI differences and those are to be expected. most are for the good... however one thing I am missing is the ability to play audio files from the finder. I could play almost all audio files from a get info or even from the list view in the finder in 1.4.11. nada in 10.6.4. is this gone, or is there a way to turn it back on?

thanks

You hit the space bar. Works for pictures, documents, audio, etc.

That’s one of those things that’s really hard to go back from. When I use a 10.4 machine now it really bums me out.

If you don’t want it on the spacebar for some reason, there’s an icon for the toolbar of the Finder windows. I can’t remember if it’s there by default, it looks like an eye.

If anyone is using a 10.4 machine check out an app called Taply. It’s a really small audio app that opens instantly, plays the file and then quits. I just assigned all audio to open with it and had an instant preview thing happening, even faster than the Finder.
