Hi,
I've been using DP for a while now (mainly in basic live situations), and I've recently started reading up on automation (!). I've been using Logic in this capacity but not DP. My very first observation was that when I rolled the playhead forward or backward the automation didn't move. This wouldn't matter except if i move a fader and then playback, the fader stays in the same position until the next event point. I immediately went to to the manual but it doesn't seem as there is a generic term for this that can help me. In logic it's the 'catch playhead' option. In pro tools it does it as well. Am I missing something. I am a noob in this area, but it did surprise me. please please tell me that I am 'the irritating postee that should look on page 3 of my manual'. Thank you!

I'm not at my music computer, but have you tried going to 'set event chasing' - I can't even remember which menu it's in, but you should be able to include automation.

Re: Automation Fader Question....
Thanks jlaudon!
that seems to do the trick - although I guess it still works differently than either Logic or PT in that if I move the wiper still nothing happens and also if I change the fader in standby mode they don't snap back as i would expect. Wonder if there is a setting for that as well??? - it kind of helps visually to always see where things should be when Latch is enabled (at least in my weird mind)
Thanks again,
M

Re: Automation Fader Question....
Actually my mistake -
it works exactly the same, except the faders change when you release the wiper in standdby mode. great stuff. I'm having a blast with it!
thanks again John!
