Motu Ultralite mk3 responding very slow and no sound

Post by rimshot609 »

I bought the Ultralite a week ago. Have been trying to get this thing running since to no avail. I'm running Win7 64bit with 4gig ram. Here's the problem(S):
1st, the Ultralite is very slow to respond when clicking/turning the knobs. When I hold down the Vol knob to power it off it takes about 30 seconds to count down 3-2-1. When I turn the volume knob it takes about 5 seconds to respond to the command.
The drivers all installed correctly and I downloaded the latest from Motu's website. Everything looks fine in the setup but I still get no sound from the MOTU! I cannot figure this out.
I was getting blue screen of death but after repeated uninstall/reinstalls that seems to have cleared.

Has anyone had a related issue with this piece of dog pooh?
I bought it from Musicians Friend and learned today that it's not a returnable item! Still haven't received a response from Motu. Wow am I am one unhappy customer.
Thanks

You should try the Ultralite on other computer and if it behaves the same I think your unit is faulty. I've seen one do the same thing and it was a hardware fault.

Try it on another computer first though. Mac or XP SP3 32bit if possible. Althought it does work on Windows 7 64bit.

If the unit turns out to be faulty Musicians Friend have to give you a replacement.

Yes, try it on another computer--preferably with a different OS and see what happens. It does sound like it could be faulty, to me.
Thank you,
