I would like to use my audio effects on MIDI tracks in DP like you can do in Ableton Live by routing the output of the MIDI track to an audio bus with an effect on it. Mind you this was a "hmmmm" moment and I am in the middle of a pre master mix and I dont want to print the MIDI track's audio just yet, I would just like to hear it with an audio effect. Can this be done in DP?
Thanks in advance.

Re: DP MIDI tracks VS Ableton live 8
You can only add audio effects to audio, in ANY DAW. MIDI is not audio, so your statement concerning adding audio effects to a MIDI track does not compute, unless you mean the audio output generated by a VI.
In DP, if your MIDI track is driving a VI, you can add any audio effects you wish to the VI track in the mixing board. If the MIDI track is routed to an external module, it ain't gonna' happen unless you route the MIDI module audio into DP and input monitor it.

Ahh in ableton I use the built in MIDI instruments audio outs to an audio bus, so technically they are vi's, thanks for smacking me about and waking me up, I went ahead an printed the track, it wasn't a pain. Thanks for the clarity.

No worries. I run FX in real-time on VI's all the time in DP; building my mix while keeping the flexibility of MIDI editing available.
