Instrument won't open after DP7 upgrade

Post by Graywolf »

I upgraded from DP4.61 to 7.12 and now my East West Boesendorfer 290 won't open. The window opens but it's just a white square. No problem with any other instruments or plugins and it does open as a stand alone.

Maybe uninstall it (the VI) and reinstall it and see if that helps.

I'm going to guess that you're still on PPC since you were at 4.xx. So, if it's the old Kompakt Player version, then those VI's have been broken since somewhere in the DP 6.x release. NI doesn't support them and neither does East West. I've been using my old EWQLSO in Kontakt 3.5 rather than updating to the Play version. If you log into your NI account, there should be a free Kontakt Player 3.5 listed under legacy products - try that. You'll have to reauthorize the EW samples through the NI Service Center app.

Yes, that's what I was trying to avoid. I'm getting a new computer in a couple of months so I think I'll wait till then and reinstall.
Here's some additional info. It will open in Kontakt 3 but I can only load presets, no editng paramaters.
And if I open an older sequence that had the Bos. 290 saved in it, it will play but the instrument window is still blank.

Thanks
