Stylus RMX problem

Post by philnicholl »

Hi all,

I have a problem with Stylus RMX 1.9.3 in DP 7.12. A sequence will play normally, but when I stop and use the dot trick to return to a specific bar (generally the start of the sequence before recorded events )and hit play, Stylus RMX groove menu patches will start playing rubbish regardless of there being any recorded MIDI events on assigned tracks or not. I can reset by disabling and then re-enabling Stylus instrument tracks, but after one pass the problem is back. If I go to edit the plugin, I find the groove tracks are spontaneously playing rubbish. I'm in the middle of a film score and it is driving me mad, but have little time to research the problem. Has anyone any ideas? Many thanks.

Stylus RMX problem

Not in front of DP right now, but I'd try setting or to run in realtime or temporarily downgrade to an earlier Stylus version until you can sort it out another time?

There is a new update that might be a fix for this.Other than that a call/email to Spectrasonics tech support may be in order.I believe the update was posted on 6/8/2010.

Many thanks for the replies. I have downloaded 1.9.4 but the problem remains. Luckily I have found a work around which is to keep a Stylus RMX edit window open. It seems that hitting play in DP (particularly after locating with the dot trick) is setting off the internal play button in Stylus. Opening up Stylus and clicking the Stylus stop button silences playback. Provided the edit window is kept open it seems to behave. I'll get in touch with Spectrasonics to see what they have to say but, for the moment, I'm happy with the work around. Thanks again.

If you're driving Stylus from MIDI tracks, then I'm assuming you turned off host sync?
