My name is Brian...and I'm a Midiot..please help!

Post by arsis »

Hey guys, I'm using an Alesis USB Pro kit and BFD (both are killer) and DP5. I recorded drum tracks for a new album and now I'm comping and editing. The whole kit is on one MIDI track and I need to be able to quantize one piece (i.e. Hi-Hat) How can I select only one note of my selected track? Or is there an easy way to separate my MIDI drum track into individual tracks of each instrument?

I believe the drum editor will work for you no?

Otherwise I usually use split notes (Region>Split Notes) and there's an option there that will create all new tracks for you. Check it out, this is all from memory as I'm not near my computer.

You may want to post in the main DP areas for more info and responses. This section is not going to get your question the attention you want.
