I've been using ST for a few yrs 90% of the time within DP and never had it crash.
A version update came out a few months ago that brought all the effects up to date.

You can place the libraries in what ever directory you want then just point ST to the directory and click relist.

I just updated the Topic header. With 8 people to go it's safe to say this deal will hit 8 x 1 in a few hours at most I would guess. You know, if Sample Tank 3 is going to have some sort of Stylus-like drag and drop, I might buy more of the loop libraries.

I've heard through the grapevine that this is likely. But whether it does or doesn't you have already figured out a great way (using clipping windows) to achieve the same result almost just as quickly. You don't have to spend any time on it, really. Just copy the main folder for each pack into the clipping window, and then you only have to double click on it to navigate to the loop you need.

For the amount of time that you are actually copying a MIDI loop into a DP project, it is not really a major inconvenience to do it this way.

We just reached our goal. :-)

8 for 1 and I couldn't stand it anymore, I bought in. I really need a sampler that reads Kurzweil format, and so have been waiting patiently for Mach Five 3 (whenever it appears), but for $50 - are you kidding me?

Zed, I goofed and left off a "d" ("Zed" vs. "Zedd") in the referral section during my order - sorry about that - with all the good info that you've provided, you deserved credit. Maybe the nice folks from IK reading these posts will fix it on the back end.

Looking forward to joining the fun!

So I jumped in on this too, especially when I realized I had $12.00 in Jam points from a previous buy.

Here is the dumb newbie question of the day--should I be installing these libraries on a separate harddrive, or is it ok to just put em' on the drive in the Mac Book Pro? I run my external drives thru USB 2.0.

Just wonderin' what is the best way....

Thanks so much for thinking of me. I appreciate it! :-)

Fortunately, I have been an eSoundz customer for almost 7 years, and Allen knows me by each of my names, and even recognizes my voice on the phone!

Since I think the ePointz are applied manually by Allen, I'm pretty sure that he will make the correction when he sees it. 8)

Welcome Dan! I think these instruments and SampleTank itself make such a small footprint that it doesn't matter where you install them. And if you want to change the location at a future date, all you do is copy the library to a new location and then point SampleTank to the new folder location. This will NOT cause your projects to forget which instruments were used or anything like that. It is really easy to change (and even to reinstall the ST whenever you have to), so you don't have to worry about it AT ALL.

Install wherever convenient, and adjust later if there happen to be any performance issues. :-)

Dan: Just to give you an Idea I've downloaded 12 libraries so far and my ST directory is 25GB I had some other stuff in there but It builds up pretty fast.

I see your moving closer to my neck of the woods.
I sent you a PM.

Well, as always, the sonic reality group buy turned out to be a technical pain in the ass!
But now all is well and it sounds great. It turns out that after I first downloaded sample tank, there was a 2nd download needed to get the actual basic level sounds. Where did it say that? I dunno!

And the authorizations and RE authorizations.. a total disorganized mess...at least for me..

but now, it works and if a person can survive the disorganized nature of how this company does things and the downloads that take forever and all the windows you have to navigate to get your sounds etc..well, at the end, you get a good deal for the money indeed!

Although, to be honest, I only seem to have gotten 7 sound libraries and not 8 as promised.

You need to navigate to one more window... in your user area the Multibox heading will lead you to one more library of your choosing.

Sorry to hear of your troubles. I agree that the window navigations are a bit of a nuisance, but everything else went smoothly for me. Just like with Native Instruments, some users report great frustrations with authorizations and such, while others report that it is easy as pie. Not sure why that is, but it would surely be nice if these things would go smoothly for everyone!

Hmmmmm. Well it is true that the Multibox option does disappear once you have selected the free pack under that option.

When you click on User Area on http://www.ikmultimedia.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it takes you to a place with a list of your personal stuff: Accounts, Authorizations, Downloads, etc. That page is where you would click on Promotions in order to download 7 of your packs. But there should also be a Red Letter heading that reads Multibox in that list if you haven't claimed it yet. That Multibox is technicially the main pack that you paid for, and the other 7 under Promotions are the freebies.

If you claimed the Multibox, the option will disappear the next time you visit that page. If you didn't claim it and it is not there, then I would fire a quick message to IK Tech Support and they will fix this for you.
