On my 828II, I have used MOTU Audio Setup to customize the input channel names, now I want to change them back, and I do, but I can't make it stick. It changes them when I do it, but next time I open DP they have reverted to the custom set of names. Is there a setting within DP proper or elsewhere that I'm missing?
thanks,
jarvis

828mkII custom channel names
I'm on my iPhone right now, but I think there are 2 settings.
Global, like you described, and a template.
So if you're using a template or opening a previous project, I'm pretty sure the I/O names will not default to your global settings.
Go to Bundles and rename. (probably for each prior project)
Hope this helps...

Re: 828mkII custom channel names
Good point Buzzy. I usually start with a template. Checking it out...

Re: 828mkII custom channel names
Templates are prolly part of it, but when I go back to MOTU Audio Setup after having changed the names and then gone elsewhere, the names have reverted. There is no header menu choice to save in MOTU Audio Setup, and CMD S has no effect.

Re: 828mkII custom channel names
Got the word from MOTU Techlink:
trash this, ~/lib/prefs/com.motu.FirewireAudio
Restart mac.
Input names are reset to default.
Pretty darn quick reply.

Re: 828mkII custom channel names/RESOLVED
Hi, new member on this forum which i found by lots of judicious googling!
I've been using an 828mk2 with custom names in the Cuemix panel..it's been a long time since I've changed them and now that I've tried, I discover this part of the MOTU software seems incredibly flakey now..
After restart the new names revert to the old ones, i trashed prefs as described in the few threads here = but no matter what i do i cannot get the custom names to be recalled automatically without loading a config in Cuemix (and get the default)
I've wasted a very long and frustrating day on this..
Can anyone provide a detailed step-by-step process for resolving this so that on bootup the names in the Audio Setup (Channel Names) and CueMix FX panel are remembered? Something seems very screwed up between the way the names are passed from the Cuemix panel back to the audio setup (not to mention the mono/stereo link state)..
It's bizzare that MOTU have not made it possible to simply set a default config for the names and channels...HELP!
