More Logical MIDI Editing?

Post by croftish »

Hi, long time no post, which shows how happy I've been with DP over the last couple of years! :D

I've come across a snag today though. I'm wanting to strip a MIDI track of it's polyphony and have it 'flattened' to a single note, so that my coders (work in games co)can access the timing info of the track only.

My colleague can do this very easily in Cubase by using the 'set polyphony' function and then the 'logical editor' to get all the notes onto middle C.

I can't seem to find any similar functionality in DP, lots of controller manipulation but not so much in terms of the notes themselves.

Any ideas anyone?

Cheers,

Jim

Just tried setting up a custom transpose map using constrain to scale (C only) and it nearly does the trick - you're just left with lots of lines in different octaves - which is easy to deal with once you drag all the octaves together and use 'remove duplicates'

So it's a workaround - but I'm still keen to hear from you DP MIDI wizzes if there's a more elegant solution out there ...?
