If it's a Garage Band Instrument, I get "Sample Not Found" for every sample in the instrument. And the file path shown for every one of them starts with $/Volumes/Macintosh HD. So that explains why MF2 can't find them. My boot drive hasn't been named that since right after I bought the machine.
I am able to do a "Find All Missing Samples" and manually point MachFive2 to the samples, but what a pain! I can't possibly do that for everything in the Garage Band library.
In the case of Apple Loops, I get "INVALID PROGRAM. Couldn't load preset file 'BlahBlahBlah.caf'" I verify that the file does indeed exist. With these, there's not even the option to try to find something. It just fails. I tried copying the entire /Library/Audio/Apple Loops folder into the external HD that I use for streaming my MF2 sounds, and then navigating to the copied folder from within MF2 and choosing a loop. No dice. "INVALID PROGRAM"
So there are really two problems here:
- MF2 is looking to a non-existent HD for GB sounds
Apple Loops just no longer work at all
This problem happens whether I'm running MF2 as a plug-in in DP7.1 or as a standalone.
Thanks!
