Hi, I would write septuplet in graphic editor. I use edit resolution box to write different snap value. With quintuplet or triplet there are not problem (these are multipler of PPQ), but if I would insert a septuplet that give i.e. 137.14 as snap value, I can only write 137 in the edit resolution box. For this reason the grid of the editor is shifted of some error amount every measure and after some measure the grid is not in sync with bar numbers....
I have read the manual carefully, but I have not found a answer. Could be good to insert a float value for these tuplet in the edit resolution box. I know that is a not common problem, but I hope that someone have an answer about this topic. I use DP 5.

Re: 7th_tuplets in graphic editor... grid error
I don't use the Quickscribe editor, but you mentioned the graphic editor so I may be misinterpreting your question.
If it is Quickscribe, I am guessing that it is not within the design to do septuplets. Frankly, if that is something you want to do for print, then you probably want to get a notation software app. I like Finale but there are lower level apps. Print Music from the makers of Finale (Finalemusic.com) is another choice at about $100 USD and Notepad for as little $10 USD for the downloaded version.
In the case of the true graphic editor window, I know you can change the resolution but you should check the manual for details on that. I haven't done it, ever, and it may solve your particular problem. DP should record the septuplets to sound accurately. If you are step editing, again, I don't do that and the manual would be a good place to start, but if you could clarify what the specific issue is in terms of the problem (look, sound or print) then maybe someone could step in who knows better than I.
So my questions are:
1- Are you in the Graphic Editor or the Quickscribe Editor?
2- Do the notes:
a- sound wrong?
b- look wrong? Or,
c- are you trying to enter the notes in step edit?

Re: 7th_tuplets in graphic editor... grid error
The problem is in the resolution of graphic editor I don't take in consideration quickscribe. I don't use performer as a notation program. I would know if there is a way to visualize well a septuplet grid resolution in graphic editor. The "edit resolution box" allow to insert only integers, but in some time division (as septuplet and other) the snap is a real values 137,14 etc.
I know that "step record" write correctly these tuplets, and is for that reason that I would know if someone has found a menu on which change resolution for the true visualization in these tuplets. I have searched in manual (pag 28-29, 296-299 and 322 of DP5 manual).

If I understand your question... setting Custom Time Format PPQ to 483 with a snap value of 69 should keep things aligned in the GE and QS renders the "sevenlet" beautifully.

Re: 7th_tuplets in graphic editor... grid error
Yes, PQQ at 473 well divide 7 but we will have probems with other tuplets. With PPQ at 420 we could write 3-5-7 tuplets beautifully, but I hope to find in a more elegant way.
