Is there a way to bounce the exact right amount of a session
I bounce in the Sequence window by clicking on the top right corner of the song and then dragging the mouse to the bottom left of the last track.
However, often times I get too much dead air at the end or maybe even some things get prematurely cut off, i.e. if I had an echo on the last part of the song.
Is there a way to bounce (maybe by selecting tracks in the Tracks Window?) where DP only bounces the exact right amount for a song?
I looked in the Tips forum and didnt see anything. Thanks.

I always just do a Select All (cmd-A) and that works for me.

I figured there was something like that - I will give it a shot. Thanks.

+1 Be sure there isn't leftover data at the end of the sequence or it will add to the cmd-a selection.barreltone wrote:I always just do a Select All (cmd-A) and that works for me.

Your echo and reverb tails (if live) might last longer than what is selected using select all. If so, listen in real time to the end and drop a marker when all is quiet. Drop another one at the beginning of the track and click on the right side of that marker. It will select the space between the two markers (assuming there are no other markers within the song). Then BTD.

Nice tip Scott, I'm definitely going to try that. Thanks!motuscott wrote:...drop a marker when all is quiet. Drop another one at the beginning of the track and click on the right side of that marker. I'd suggest you spend some time with the manual and just experimenting with DP to learn how to make time-range selections. There's so many great shortcuts and techniques. Knowing many of them will make your experience with DP (and any DAW) so much more productive and pleasurable. A simple one to start (if you haven't changed the Commands): F5 is "Set Selection Start To Counter" and F6 is "Set Selection End To Counter." Move the Wiper (or type in the counter) where you want the bounce to start and hit F5. Now move where you want it to end and hit F6.Indellable wrote:Is there a way to bounce (maybe by selecting tracks in the Tracks Window?) where DP only bounces the exact right amount for a song?
DP can "save" time ranges that you can recall at any time and it also "remembers" time (Control-R).
Pay special attention to learning and customizing the Commands to fit your needs.

Hi,
I like to use loop (repeat) points as quick selection in and outs for bounces (F1 + F2). If you click on one of them you'll select everthing in between. Loop playback needs to be tuned on of course (7 on keypad).
Best
