hi all,
hoping someone has some clues for me! this is the first computer problem i've had in a long time that i haven't been able to fix, very frustrating!
unfortunately this problem first started happening a few months ago, but i was too busy to track it down...
i'm running Mac OS X 10.5.8 on a MBP 2.16 C2D.
i now have an intermittent problem which causes audio playback through my Ultralite to stutter and die (it's on firmware 1.15, and i'm using the 1.4.23 driver). when it happens it brings my computer to it's knees until i kill whatever application is outputting audio and turn the Ultralite off.
amongst other things i have tried to track down the problem:
• jiggling the firewire connectors has no effect, so i don't think it's a cable/connection problem
• reapplying the Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update
• reinstalling the 1.4.23 driver
• uninstalling JackOSX
• uninstalling Soundflower
i've seen people suggesting uninstalling the driver, reapplying the OS X update, and then reinstalling the driver. is uninstalling the driver first crucial?
in desperation my next step will be to start over with a clean install of OS X, but i don't really want to go through that pain if possible!
any other ideas? i hope it's not a hardware problem...
oh, and here is a sample of the errors i am getting in my system.log:

Re: Ultralite audio shenanigans...
Hello,
I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you. But you're not alone - see my thread here: http://www.motunation.com/forum/viewtop ... 4&p=307439" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I have tried a fresh install of OSX and my audio software, but unfortunately this hasn't solved it. I've been doing a bit of googling to find other people getting the same messages in their system log. I'll let you know if I find anything. So far it seems that there are some M-Audio customers experiencing the same problem too.
