"Consolidation" technique...an easier one, perhaps?
Long ago I developed my own technique for what Pro Toolers call "Consolidation". If I want a set of .aiff's for a 24 track audio recording with various edits, comps, little tracks hanging out in the timeline, etc etc, then I just record some blank audio for about 1/2 a second at the top and tail of the song, highlight everything, and MERGE it, this creates 24 equal length aiff soundbites that can be imported into just about any other recording software. Is there a command or technique that does this in a more automated, less busy-work fashion?

Apparently in DP7 now 'Merge Soundbites' acts the same way as 'consolodate' in Pro Tools - ie. creating audio files from the start of the selection, rather than from the start of the first soundbite in the selection.
