New XP software

Post by MuzicNerd »

I am looking for a new piece of recording software im not looking to spend more than necessary. I am opening a local record company and im working on enhancing my studio. i've currently got a 16 track mixer a guitar port and a MOTU 1224 and PCI-324 interface. I am using Cool Edit Pro but i've heard it isn't the best....anyone have any suggestions i've heard cakewalk is good but i don't know which version....any advice would be appreciated thanks

If you are currently using CE I would suggest that you upgrade to Adobe Audition. Adobe purchased CE and have made a good product a whole lot better. I am using version 1.5 with 2408MK3 and it works flawlessly.

I am also a fan of Audition, but I might suggest you take a look at the Samplitude rental option. http://www.samplitude.com/de/sfr.htm

Cakewalk Sonar 4 Producer is one of the finest PC recording and sequencing packages available. It boasts the most flexibly dynamic bussing, 192khz and higher capable (Cubase is limited to 96) POWR3 dithering and more. If you're thinking about Cakewalk, and imho you SHOULD, look at Sonar 4 Pro.
