I'm in the same boat - can't even log on to the website -
starting to think it won't happen. Oh well, it was just 20 bucks.

Must be kind of random. Yesterday I clicked on the link to their site, did the password thing, was directed to the download page. I had all the files down in under an hour.
So far, Superior Drummer sounds better to my ears, I also have the Ocean Way Drums Collection. I'll get into the SS stuff more and report back.
Peace!

Re: Steven Slate Drums EX as AudioMIDI no-brainer deal at $20
I've been getting in no problem. I get redirected to drumclassroom.net. Only problem is that I just got around to installing today and the two largest ZIP files were corrupted and I got an error upon unzipping them. The third was okay. I'm also not on the fasted connection in the world so I'm using FireFox this time to try something different, but the first archive says it's going to be 2 hours to download. Ugh. I think what happened is the first attempt ended prematurely. I don't know if Safari can safely resume a download. I guess I better start over to play it safe.

Re: Steven Slate Drums EX as AudioMIDI no-brainer deal at $20
With just a quick listen, they do sound like the demos. Very bright and hyped, kick drums are very scooped. If I turn the rooms down and re-eq things it sounds better. These are very processed drums, not clean samples, so you probably should like what they sound like in the demo. It's kind of premixed.
I didn't look at them that long, but are there no separate oh's, rooms, etc? That's the reason I didn't buy that Ocean Way Drums deal a while back.
Proof that I will buy anything for $20. It's really a great deal if you like the sound of the demos, less if you don't, but still it should be useful for $20.

Re: Steven Slate Drums EX as AudioMIDI no-brainer deal at $20
Messing with it now and it's pretty good... especially at $20. Just one thing. Anybody else who got it tell me something: I loaded up the Chunky Rock Kit multi and on a pattern that should have ride cymbal, I'm getting nothing. Other kits it's fine. Hmmm....
EDIT: My bad... I was using EZ Player Pro 1.03. Just checked Toontrack's site and downloaded 1.05 which includes Map Wrap for Steven Slate drums. I suspect this should do the trick.

This is no bargain-bin sound. I think they sound and feel great! Very solid.
Their little marketing strategy is working, too. I'm checking out their entire collection.
I would have kicked myself if I had missed this deal.

Might be nice if their servers worked as well as their marketing
stategy....
Seems I'll have to wait until Monday to even get an answer about
this problem with their server.

Re: Steven Slate Drums EX as AudioMIDI no-brainer deal at $20
David, I don't know what's going on on your end, but after they got the servers up and running, when I put in my user name and password in the login window it didn't work. I tried five times. Then I saw a help link (I think it was at the bottom of the login window) and that brought me to a page that I had filled out two days before. I filled it out again and got another user name and password and (I think) a keycode (I don't remember now) and then I was able to log in. That new information wasn't emailed to me like it was the first time, though. I had to print that page.David Polich wrote:Might be nice if their servers worked as well as their marketing

Bummer. No doubt they should have gotten their act together with the servers before this sale was announced. Now that is a no-brainer.kgdrum wrote:I was able to dl 1 file and have not been able to log back in since I keep getting this message :

Re: Steven Slate Drums EX as AudioMIDI no-brainer deal at $20
Woah... that's just weird. I guess I got lucky this time, because I had no problems whatsoever getting to the download links. I do know that the second time I had to do the download (my browser must have quit the download early), I was issued a slighly different username and password to get into the file area.
I don't know much about this stuff, but I'd guess they are using multiple servers transparently to the user and which one you get may be the luck of the draw. Maybe you got a bum server? Perhaps if you go back to their main link again so that another username and password is generated, you'll be sent to links on a different physical server? As I said, I had no issues at all.

This is the case, yes? Someone please verify this...I have SSD 2.0 and never really used it because there were no overheads or room mics to have on separate tracks. SD 2 was more useful to me because of this.I didn't look at them that long, but are there no separate oh's, rooms, etc? That's the reason I didn't buy that Ocean Way Drums deal a while back.
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Steven Slate Drums EX as AudioMIDI no-brainer deal at $20
I am new to the Kontact way of doing things, so I may be exposing my ignorance a little here. I was able to download and install this OK. It took FOREVER, but it did eventually work. You need to follow the instructions carefully and re-read them several times. The download took the better part of 2 days. It seems to me the download servers have bandwidth limiters on them. The 2 big 2 Gb files took 4 or 5 hours each. I never logged off though, and just kept the machine up and connected, and eventually got everything down. A little bit of extracting .zip files, running installers, finding the serial code message, and moving files to specific folders. I have been demoing using the included .mid files. They are sort of hyped, but I think they will be useful.
As I said, I am new to Kontact, but a quick look at the instruments, and I see there are controls on each drum instrument that turn the room and overhead mic's on and off, and volume and pan parameters that you can apply to the room mic's.

There were some multi-tracked kits as part of the bonus. The main body of the samples were stereo kits (MT vs ST as part of the file names).
