Traveler v1 works fine unless I daisy chain firewire

Post by daviswhite »

No problems unless I use the available second fire wire output to place a drive or Liquid Mix or second Interface. Then either nothing registers (computer stops seeing the Traveler) or the product after the Traveler does not show up. System: MAC OSX Leopard with up to date drivers on the mac and current Traveler firmware. I think I've narrowed it down to a problem with the Traveler itself (3 + yrs old) it used to accommodate any combination/order of firewire patching just fine, the problem first presented itself the first time I plugged a Liquid Mix firewire device this last Summer but that night be coincidence. Is this a 'return to the factory' situation or a common problem?

I suspect that the Traveler simply has one broken FireWire port. Does it work normally by itself when you use either of its two FireWire ports to connect it to the computer? Connect it to the computer using the FireWire port on the left, test it for a while, and then connect it to the computer using the port on the right. Does it still work?

Yes, it works from either port used singularly.

Test all of your FireWire cables.
