828Mk3 Output Levels

Quick question - what are the output levels of the 828mk3? Anybody know. I know they say for the 1/4 analog outputs they are +4dbu - I am going to assume that is the same on the XLR main outs. But what is the reference level to get +4dbu is DBFS? I thought maybe 0dbfas would get me +4dbu - but today I ran the outputs into my Joe Meek mic pre's line level input and set the input and outputs to nominal and the output was much hight than +4dbu

Any ideas as the to actual output levels?
