Four out of five of these songs were tracked in PTLE (002 clocked to a Mini-Me) on location in a garage and an unfinished basement. I tracked all of the basics live (guitar/bass/drums) and there are no edits except for a couple of bass notes in one song (time-aligned). Vocals, keys (and Reason), and a few guitar overdubs were done in Mike's unfinished basement. The last song was tracked entirely in DP 4.61 at my house and basement studio (The Laundromat) using my Black Lion modified 828mk2, an OktavaMod MK-012, and a 1970s Microtech-Gefell UM70s LDC.
The entire EP was mixed and mastered by Mike and I at my place in DP.

Let me know what you think. I'm happy to answer any questions about the gear that we used.

Re: Audible Isolette EP
The acoustic guitars sound really nice in Fourteen Weeks. Dynamics and the range of frequencies across the fretboard. If that was the Oktavamod, it sounds like it was worth it.
I'll be back at that site later when I have more time to listen to the rest of it.

Re: Audible Isolette EP
That song was recorded in my living room (J-45, antique metronome) and my basement studio (vocals). The guitar was the Oktavamod MK-012 right where the neck meets the body about 6" back, and the UM70s about 12' back in omni for some ambiance. I then panned the OktavaMod center, the um70s hard let, and another take (unedited) of um70s hard right. So the ambiance is doubled, and center is dry. No reverb added. A little EQ cutting (automated on the strummed part in the middle of the song), a little compression, and a little volume automation on the acoustic.

Re: Audible Isolette EP
I do some similar mic techniques with acoustic to add room ambience. I think it tends to sound much better than an added reverb (and I really like reverb). My one attempt at Mid/Side recording an acoustic guitar was interesting for the same kind of thing - being able to use the sides for "air".
