Addictive Drums-DP7, & SL Don't seem to "mix"

Post by whoshivsagit »

In a previous life when I had DP5, OS 10.4.11, "they" all seemed
to get along with "Addictive Drums".
But now since upgrading to DP7.02, and SL,Addictive Drums does not perform. I can get the outputs of AD and hear them in DP, but cannot get the Aux channel see AD to be able to record to disk.

I'm supposed to see the outputs of AD as Kick -3, snare-4 (and so on)
in DP in the "new mono bundle "it" is not there. AD drums are listed but not with the output designation 3-4-5 etc as need to be able to record.

I hope this makes sense...cause I'm gettin dizzy. :-)

I have scoured DP trying to find the separate output(s) for AD but
"they" are just not there. Like I said had no problem with prior setup.

Any suggestions???

Thanks

I'm confused by this... you can't record an Aux channel directly to disk, you can only monitor through them. You would need further to route the Aux to an audio track or route the same bus to an audio track.

Are you able to hear the output from AD on any tracks?

Confused here too... Did you try adjusting the Bundles?

Maybe I can clarify by stating "the method" before upgrading
to SL and DP7.02.

1.I select the separate outputs on AD
2.I add an Aux track for each output
3.I assign each Aux (New Mono Bundle)to an AD drum track ie. Kick, snare, hat, etc.

In the "old days"...New Mono Bundle would show the AD drums (kick, snare etc) with a number designation. 3 for kick, 4 for snare and so on.

"This" (number designation) I cannot see currently. I just see the AD drums without the number(s)and selecting this reverts back to being just an Aux channel which of course cannot be recorded to disc. This is not a problem I had with DP5, and OS 1.4.11. I'm thinking there has been either a change in the screen shots (directions) or protocol with the upgrade. I think I have found a work-around, although it's a bit cumbersome and time consuming.
It will work however till I find an alternative drum package.
It's funny (not really) how things are working just fine...then you are mandated to do an upgrade for one reason or another then things go to *hit.
I have had this upgrade dilemma now with 3 pieces of hardware.
I believe I'm gonna now hold off on future upgrades until the "units" are on Medicare. :-) My new motto..."if it works...I ain't fixin it" No matter what the shiny Ad says.("YES!! This new upgrade will make your work flow sooooooo much easier"!!!) Horse Cookies!!!

Thanks!!

Stating a obvious question here, but do you have the last version of Addictive Drums?
They upgraded a couple of times not too long ago.

I just received DP7 in the mail and gonna try it on a different partition, so I'll let you know of my findings (I also use Addictive Drums a lot).

Yeah I just checked it and worked fine with DP7.1.
Make sure you have version 1.5.1.
