Traveller Mk3 - additional I/O possible?

Post by randallp »

Hello,
new here (and to digital i/o - sorry!)

I want to record 24 TRS channels (from 3 x DB25 analog direct outs) from our church mixer into Logic on a MacBook pro. Is there a way of using the digital I/O on the traveller Mk3 to plug in some extra TRS inputs?

Ideally I'd like to leave the extra I/O stuff at the church and just take the Traveller home with the Macbook. (Fewer un/replugs to do the better).

I basically want to capture up to 24channels live then post-prod edit the result at home.

Hope that's clear. I know zilch about digital i/o

Thanks in anticipation for any help.

Look at the MOTU 8pre, which can be used as an expansion device for the Traveler mk3. There's info about it on the MOTU website.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

What's the max number of TRS inputs using expansions? That is, can I have more than one 8pre? Sorry to be so thick - do you daisy chain optical or something?
