Motu ultralite mk3 synth connection

Hello,

I am new to this so please bare with me if I have posted in the wrong forum or if I can't explain correctly my problem.

I installed Motu ultralite mkIII to my imac running snow leopard and everything worked fine. I tested it with my studio monitors and I could hear the sounnds of my computer through the monitors.
BUT when I tried to connect my KURZWEIL PC3X synth to the motu interface as mentioned in the manual (through the input gates 7-8) I could not hear any sound at all from my synth not only from my monitors but also from the headphones located in the motu interface. What am I doing wrong?
(I haven't connected any MIDI cable yet because for the moment I haven't installed any DAW. I just want to hear my synth through the motu utralite and from my studio monitors)

Open the CueMix FX and check to see if you have a signal going through the mixer.
Check to see if the fader is down on the channels where you connected the keyboard.

I also think that there are new drivers up on the site, but the site seems to be down for the moment.

I did that but still no sound... (the faders are moving when I press the keys but I can't hear anything)

Did you try other inputs? Like 3 and 4?

yes I did... still no sound...
I feel I have to somehow show motu how to configure the input in order to "understand" the sound.. but I don't know how to do that exactly.
