DP 7 and Bidule=Latency (at least for me)!
I love Bidule and really want to use it. I have it running in rewire mode in DP and the latency is KILLING me.
Any suggestions folks??????
Peace

Ok same problem here also !! In rewire mode the syncro is not done with the metronome, whatever the buffer!! I don't understand !!

Any other suggestions? I really like Bidule, but can't have this much latency!legodo wrote:Ok same problem here also !! In rewire mode the syncro is not done with the metronome, whatever the buffer!! I don't understand !!

Re: DP 7 and Bidule=Latency (at least for me)!
I bought VSL Pro and it is really brilliant, not latency and very stable, but Play is not yet compatible with it !!! This is a shame !! I don't see any other solution at this moment sorry.

Are you using the "Bidule Rewire" device? If you use the "Bidule" input modules your ADC is not being reported to DP.rikp wrote:Any other suggestions? Yeah, you have to either use the Rewire MIDI ports (which are delay compensated) or use the time shift plugin to pull your MIDI tracks earlier.
You can easily figure out the amount of ticks to set the time shift to by quantizing a drum track 100% and playing it back with the audio metronome. From then on, provided you don't change the buffer it should be spot on. Though, technically I suppose it may be possible to instantiate plugins in Bidule that further affect latency.

Re: DP 7 and Bidule=Latency (at least for me)!
I am using rewire mode. I have VE pro and I love it, but Play is what is causing the issues. When I first load it into DP7 no problems. When I try to open it up again by double clicking on the VI, it crashes DP every time. I can't add any instrument to Play.
It seems to be working great in Bidule, except for the latency.
Am I the only one having latency issues with DP 7 and Bidule?
Peace

Re: DP 7 and Bidule=Latency (at least for me)!
I just stuck the time shift plug into the MIDI port and set it early at 075 and the MIDI is in sync with the DP click and other DP VIs. It works, and I can live with it.
Did not solve the problem though! It would be nice if DP and Bidule had a pow wow about this.

Are you certain that you are using the "Bidule Rewire" input module in Bidule?
Bidule can open in Rewire mode and not use this module... you can delete it and just use the Bidule MIDI inputs if you like. I know that when Composer first started posting about Bidule on this board, his template did not use the Bidule Rewire module and there was some discussion that this would defeat the ADC.... Take a look. In Bidule, the proper module is located under "Rewire" in the drawer area where you grab the modules...

Guess I am confused about this. Do you have a screen shot that you can share. I am running in rewire mode. Are you saying that I should delete the rewire module that shows up when you launch in rewire and grab another rewire module from the drawer on the LH side screen of Bidule?
I will give it the old college try tonight!
Thanks for helping me solve this problem!

Re: DP 7 and Bidule=Latency (at least for me)!
Thanks! Just tried it and the latency is gone. Thanks! But now using this method you are only allowed one rewire module with 8 MIDI devices 16 channels for each device. Granted, that is a lot. But what is the point of adding a Bidule MIDI input and attaching a VI to it. That allows you many more VIs but I am back to the latency issue again.KEVORKIAN wrote:

Re: DP 7 and Bidule=Latency (at least for me)!
Yeah... there has to be some limitations and the 8 channel one is part of the Rewire spec I believe. I think that Plogue found a way around that when using the regular Bidule MIDI inputs but you lose the ADC.rikp wrote: Thanks! Just tried it and the latency is gone. Thanks! Personally I'd rather have the ADC...
Remember that bidule can do a lot with MIDI so you can split and route the channels however you need to if 8 inputs somehow proves to be too few, but I'd imagine you can make this work... you have 128 channels and I can't imagine you use more VIs that that at one time

Re: DP 7 and Bidule=Latency (SOLVED)
Thanks again for the help Kevorkian! This will make my life much easier. Especially since Play is not behaving well within DP when VE Pro is loaded along with it. I will just shoot both VIs into Bidule, where they seem to get along OK.KEVORKIAN wrote: Yeah... there has to be some limitations and the 8 channel one is part of the Rewire spec I believe.
