However, you still will have DP 5.13 at your disposal even if you install 6.

I thought that I read that you had to do something to kind of "trick it" to make them both work together. Did I make that up?Larry Mal wrote:However, you still will have DP 5.13 at your disposal even if you install 6.

Re: In which order should I upgrade?
Well, I'm not going to be the person to really tell you- I mainly use Logic, with DP only getting sporadic use. But I just booted up 5.13, and it was no problem, and I opened up a couple of projects created with it, no problem.
I tried to open up a project I created with version 7, and it wouldn't, but I really wouldn't have expected it to.
Likely someone here will be able to tell you better, though. It's really a shame about version 6... apparently no one thinks it was ever any good, and I guess now it won't be made to be good, since MOTU just wants folks to move on. I had thought the last build was fairly stable.

Re: In which order should I upgrade?
I was in the same situation a few months back; I'd bought DP6 but held on to it and continued using 5.13. Finally, I installed it, and it was nothing but trouble. Not only didn't it work properly, but it screwed up my ability to use 5.13 for several days, and I had to uninstall and reinstall several items. Of course, within a few weeks, DP7 was released, which made me question the value of DP6 all the more.
