BEST FAX software for Mac OS X???
Hi, I'm wondering what software you use to send faxes in OSX, I'm currently running OSX 10.5.8 Thanks, Fred
MacBook Pro (16-inch, 2019) 2.3 GHz 8-Core Intel Core i9 16 GB RAM OSX 12.7.1 Monterey
UAD Apollo Quad, some Waves, Soundtoys, Digital Performer 11.34, Reason 13, iZotope 11, and lots of real instruments to play.

Faxing is built-in to the OS. You just need a modem or an older Mac (like a Powerbook G4) that has a modem built-in to plug into a phone line.
recording: Mac Mini 2018 - 32GB RAM - 3.2 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7 - two Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 - OS 14.7.2 - DP 11.34
mixing: Mac Mini M4 Pro - 64 GB RAM - Focusrite Scarlett Solo - OS 15.3.2 - DP 11.34
VIs and Plug-ins: hundreds (amassed since 1990)

Yeah...on the print dialog one of the options on the PDF button is "Fax PDF...". Gotta have a modem as Jim wrote.

If you don't have a modem Mac just use a service like SR Fax... $6 a month.funkyfreddy wrote:Hi, I'm wondering what software you use to send faxes in OSX, I'm currently running OSX 10.5.8 Thanks, Fred
Landlines have gone south with the internet so hopefully if you have a landline you don't mind paying the long distance charges because not all fax numbers are toll free.
SR Fax works through you browser. I think I can send up to 50 and receive 100 a month @ that price... works great for most needs.

Re: BEST FAX software for Mac OS X???
Thanks for all of your help!
When I try to fax something in OSX get the message - "no fax modem found".
SRfax is now $9 a month, don't see that they have price on individual faxes.... which would be good in my case since I don't send very many anymore.
Right now I'm wondering if I should just get pagesender or some other software unless someone knows a way to set up a fax modem....
Thanks again for all of your help!

No, look here: http://www.srfax.com/srf/LP_USPricing.phpfunkyfreddy wrote:

the ultra lite plan is $6.95 for a month. It has cost me $10-$20 going to a faxing place for a few pages because it always tuns out to be more pages sent for some reason even though you hand them 2 pieces of paper he he... I use it and it works perfect.
You obviously don't have a modem Mac. The newer Macs don't have them...
I think they stopped in late 2006.
