Main Outs on ultralite Mk3

Post by jericho »

Hey folks!

Up until recently, I hadn't really had a set of monitors to use for editing/mixing, just had been doing everything through headphones. A friend is loaning me his monitors which are Event "Tria". My setup is:

MacBook Pro (2.4 Ghz Non-unibody, 2GB RAM) w/500GB firewire project drive
Ultralite Mk3
MXL 990 on Input 1
Blue 8 Ball on Input 2
Headphones
Main Outs going to Event Tria (sub and two monitors)
Garageband (from iLife 09)

I've got the CuemixFX window open and using that. I have GarageBand's input and output routed through the Ultralite. I'm seeing the Main's Levelmeter moving along with the audio source I'm playing (of course not having mics open while I'm using speakers for playback) and in the headphones I'm hearing exactly what I expect. Is there anything I'm vastly overlooking or should it be routing the sound I expect through the main outs?

If this is not enough info, I would be more than happy to provide more. :)
thanks in advance!

Not sure about the Ultralite, but on the driver (called Audio Setup, I think) for my 896, I can assign the main outs to headphones only. Since you were working on headphones before, you might check that you have the mains set for the main outs on that driver.

I will certainly give that a try tonight. As far as I know I did not change the assignments, is this on 'audio MIDI setup' or just the driver itself?

I can't change any assignments on my 896 in AudioMIDI, so I think it's just the driver (which I think is called Audio Setup, if that isn't confusing!).

Good luck!

Someone give this man a cookie! That was indeed what was it. for some strange reason I had main out set to Analog 1/2. As soon as I swapped it over, it worked like a charm. Thanks a ton!
