Did you try grouping by selecting tracks in the Tracks Overview and then using the double tap "t" in order to achieve the same effect? Does that work or is it broken too?

This is working fine for me, ironchef. I haven't noticed the numerical display issue either. :?:

On the crashing issue--I spent all day yesterday writing using several instances of Vienna Ensemble Pro. Instead of sending the outputs of the VI's to busses, I sent them all to the main outs while composing. Not one crash all day. When I bussed out all the VI's to auxes for the bounce to audio, I started getting crashes. So this just confirms the problem I have seen since I installed DP7 on 10.5.8. On my system, it will frequently crash when I have several VI's routed to aux tracks or audio tracks via busses. :?

The crash report is always the same, too. No mention of any other apps or plugs in the crashed thread:

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere: I can select apple soft synth as output, but the patches columns say "no patches" when I click on it.

Using SL X.6.1 on Macbook 2gh intel core duo, dp 7.0

Thanks

Definitely some occasional automation issues, at least with mutes - DP7 would fail to pick up the correct mute automation status on an audio track when jumping to a new location during playback using the numeric keypad. So far it's happened to me only with mutes on an aux track, and only very occasionally. Volume automation, send mute automation etc. has performed flawlessly thus far.

Also definitely readout issues on the mixing board - moving a fader will occasionally not update the numeric readout of that fader's value, although the fader will operate normally. Typing in the desired value instead works. This always only affects one or a few faders, never the whole board. Moving the fader of the offending track in the infobox inside any edit window will "wake up" that fader's readout in the mixing board and it will work fine.

Finally, my first few crashes - all involving Stillwell plugs which are still iffy in DP. While they work fine, they overtake key commands when in the foreground (so you can't use transport commands for DP when they are active) and I had a couple of crashes when clicking on the plug's GUI during playback to make the plug-in come forward, or when deleting the plug-in from the track during playback. So Stillwell plugs still a bit of an issue in DP7/SL.

Has everyone updated to DP 7.02 from DP 7.0? (except me, of course, since I will be on 5.13 until I get a new music Mac).

Regarding cloning a plug-in to another track while play is engaged - I dunno, this is just something I wouldn't do ever, even if I was on a 25Ghz Xeon Mark 10 running Snow Cougar in 128-bit mode. To me it's like changing a tire while the car is moving...in other words, it's asking for trouble.

What's the matter with that? Its replacing the fan belt while the engine is running that gives me trouble. :D

I have done it many times and it saves time for me. It just does not work right since 7 so whatever...

No disrespect intended Gary. I, too, have cloned insert FX as playback was underway, but periodic crashes discouraged me from doing this so long ago that I can't remember under which version of DP the troubles were first encountered. I just couldn't resist extending David's analogy. Like David, I am not yet on MacIntel, so moving to DP7 isn't a top priority. DP6.02 is working well on my Quad G5 under Tiger.

I hope you can get your issues resolved soon. Did you ever trace any troubles to your SCSI HD interface?

I clone effect plug-ins while playing in DP7.01 all the time. So far it's worked fine. The only plug-ins that are a bit shaky are the Stillwell (and to a lesser degree the Sonalksis), but that's a known problem since SnowLeo, and for the most part even those work just fine for me.

Anybody have a problem where DP7 encounters problems and sometimes stalls completely, when opening up a project in a different frequency than the previous project? It happens every time I do it, and I have to do it quite a lot, as we're working on TV stuff at 48 and CD stuff at 44.1.

Yes. I open DP first now, set the SR , then open the projects.

There is no 7.02 yet.

Also, got a bunch of stalls yesterday with 7.01 and SL.
Very dismayed actually.

Quick question - can anyone tell me how I can get the equivalent of double-clicking on the selection start or end buttons to set them to the start or end of chunk? I used to very often single-click on the selection start (to set to current time) and then double-click on the selection end button to select everything from counter to end, and somehow the double-click to set the selection end to chunk end, or the selection start to chunk start, doesn't work anymore?

On the rt display on the controller window you know the two small down arrows? The lower one will load the end time I think. Let me know what you find.
