No mic inputs in CueMix. Firmware upgrade problems in mk3

Hi,

Yesterday i receive a new Ultralite Mk3. As a boy with a new toy i followed the instructions step by step included in the manual for installing the software (first) and hardware in my Windows Vista 64, The first problem I got was an Error from the operating system during the setup. Looking in the internet i found was administrator rights problems so I run the setup with administrator privileges and everything went right..
BUT, when I started Cuemix i found there was no Input channels for the MIC inputs of the interface. I read the whole manual and I found nothing about activating the mic lines or something similar. I'm sure the connection with the firewire is working ok because the reverb on/off swithc state in Cuemix is mirrored in the front pannel of the interface. So I went to the drivers page of MOTU, intalled the newest drivers (as administrator again) but no mic inputs apperar in CueMix. So I decided to try a firmware update. I was really surprised that, reading the instructions on how to proceed, the readme file in the firmware update software says that I have to turn off the interface as a first step, then turn it on with the PAGE and CURSOR knobs pushed... well I can't find any CURSOR knobs in my MK3 interface. When I pushed the PAGE and VALUE knobs, the interface says it is in BOOTLOADER mode but the firmware upgrade software does not work. Again it says i have to push the PAGE an CURSOR knobs while swithing on the interface.
Any suggestions on all of that?

I don't have an answer for you but are you sure there is an actual new update available for the Ultralite mk3? I can't find any reference to it on the MOTU website.

The two mic/instrument inputs are analog 1 and analog 2. The firmware update available at motu.com is for original UltraLites, not UltraLite mk3s. It says so in the description of the installer package: "This file is for the original MOTU UltraLite only. Not for use with UltraLite mk3."

Yeah, it's as 1nput0utpt says. The XLR input on the front and back of the unit are called Analog 1 and 2 in CueMix FX, and they are the two inputs with the built in preamps for Mics to be connected to them without having to use a separate outboard preamp. I guess the Utralite-mk3 manual needs to be updated, because the Cuemix pics in the manual do show the name Mic1 and Mic2.

And the firmware update you mention is not for the Ultralite-mk3. It's for the original Ultralite.

Thanks all of you for the replies. I finally get the mk3 perfectly working. And thanks for the advise about the original Ultralite update. I did'n noticed it.
