Anyone here perform or record with a looper? Currently I'm using 2 of them for different things, a BOSS RC-50 and a LINE 6 Echo Pro. Both units have their pros and cons....
I recently had an old Lexicon Jamman go south on me..... it still passes signal but it's functions are intermittent. Lexicon no longer repairs these unfortunately.....

I don't know if this is what you mean, but I have two friends I've jammed with who use Boomerangs. Lots of fun, those.

Hey Freddy,
I have a Boss RC-50 but haven't used it in a while. However, I plan to get back into it (I use it with my guitars). Just curious; have you ever used it with DP and does everything sync up properly (BPM)? I haven't tried it yet. Might you have any tips or advice to offer?

I haven't used it with DP yet.... I've heard that it has problems with it's MIDI sync so I would try first using the RC-50 as a driver and slave DP to it. I've slaved my Echo pro to the RC-50 w/o any problems. I will probably experiment with DP7 and the RC-50 over the weekend, so I'll report back here.
I've been performing quite a bit lately on Secondlife.com under the moniker of Funkyfreddy Republic. I use my loopers about 1/3 of the time, sometimes just for subtle echo textures..... other times for full blown one man band type of self accompaniment. I do a lot of modal exploration when I improvise over loops and that's why I like them so much, lol.
I hope you all have a great weekend! If any of you live near Montreal I will be playing there tonight at Centre St. Ambroise at 8pm, directions at the bottom of the page on the link below. Thanks, Fred
