Internals Won't Mount with 10.6.1

Post by jroadrage »

I just upgraded my 2.8 to 10.6.1 and none of my internals will mount on the desktop. They're all accessible from every other place other than my desktop and seem to be functioning OK but I'm a bit of a computing hypochondriac and I'm wondering if this is indicative of some other problems. I have an external firewire and USB and 2.0 drive that both mount OK on the desktop. I'm on a write zeros-dead-clean install of Snow Leopard so I don't know what the problem could be. Anyone have any ideas?

Check the Finder preferences including the Sidebar prefs. While in the Finder, look under the Finder menu for Preferences. Probably solve it is my guess.

Thanks guys, my techno-paranoia had me thinking there was something much more sinister going on after a clean install but turns out it was just that unchecked preference option, how it got toggled off I still don't know but that was it.
