is there anyone who has a working DP7 in DAE-mode on a PPC with PT8/Leopard ?
my system crashes immediately on hitting play (same with DP7.01)
works instead on PT7/Tiger

Re: DP7, DAE, Leopard, PPC
It's my conviction (not shared by everyone else) that there
is no point in installing Leopard on a PPC Mac. Tiger was the
last OS that was optimized for PPC Macs.
I also think you won't gain anything by switching to DP7 on a PPC
Mac. It will likely run the same or slower as DP5.13.
On the other hand, for Intel Macs running Snow Leopard, DP7 is
a total no-brainer. It appears to be rocking on SL.

Re: DP7, DAE, Leopard, PPC
thanks david for answering
but I´ve to say that my G5 quad runs very smoothly under Leopard with Protools and Logic, better then ever in Tiger

Re: DP7, DAE, Leopard, PPC
I've been trying a few setups to get it working and find that the PT instruments cause it to crash as soon as i press play... i find if i dont have any of the tools instruments loaded it works fine but has quite a few other hiccups here and there .. it is possible to get it going though and i think the best setup so far is PPC - 10.5.7 - DP7 - PT 7.4.2 cs4 8.0cs3 seems to also work and i've just tried 8.01 and it seems ok... they all work as long as i dont load a instrument under DAE... actually i can open Boom under config 7.4.2 cs4 and it will play by pressing booms play button but as soon as i press DP's transport it beach balls and crashes...
love to hear an update of what you get going... also, do you know if there's a way to get rewire to work in DAE mode on DP7 ?..
cheers,
Mat
PS: i'm on a dual G5 2ghz, Magma PCI PX7B chassis with HD3. the G5 also has a uad 1 installed in the computer... works perfectly with everything else (Logic 8.02, PT - all versions and motu native)

Re: DP7, DAE, Leopard, PPC
hi laurence, thanks for your reply
I was quite sure that this isn´t an issue with only my system, no I know - they didn´t test this combi - a setup you´ll find in many studios, okay so is live
DP/DAE is a very fragile combination, you don´t know what will happen with it in the next update of DP
So far I know there´s no way to get DP/DAE working with rewire

Re: DP7, DAE, Leopard, PPC
DP7.1 seems to have solved the play/rec crash - works fine here
but still it´s not possible to enter numerical values in TDM-plugs (with rtas plugs there´s no problem)
