UPDATE... MOTU Fixed the site so my updates are there including 6.02. They also sent me a disk with 6.02. I think MOTU has proven to be a great customer care company.

It was not on my downloads page. Called MOTU and they said it is happening to a few people and they are going to fix it... my registration and everything is right there. He just said... hmmm...

sounds like a webmaster task... but I used the link and got it. Thanks again to MOTUNATION steppin' in the gap...

I have the same request. Anyone?
I've been using 7.0 since it came out - no problems - couldn't wait to get away from 6.0.2 - now using 7.0.1 and still everything is fine. A bit more efficient than 6 - I, like others, see 7 as 6.1. Not much new in DP7.

That's good news, thanks for posting.

Well, I guess I should report that I've had 3 crashes today in DP 7.01, vs. zero crashes in 7.0 over the weeks that I used it. Actually, I did have 1 crash in 7.0, but it was due to something I was doing in a synth VI, and I don't think I should blame DP for it.

However, today's 3 crashes happened while ripping through presets in Nomad Factory plugins. I was just auditioning them, leaping from one to the next as quickly as I could make out how the sound had changed. Periodically I'd hit one and get the rotating circular prism of refracted wavelengths of morbidity (aka: beachball of death). Happened 3 times. So, either Nomad's plugins aren't as stable as we'd like, or DP 7.01 is less stable than 7.0, or flying through presets leaves something undone and gets OS threads processing out of order.

We'll see if anyone else reports more crashes than before. For me, that would mean any crashes, since I was getting zero crashes in 7.0. Man, I hate to give that up. Maybe I'll go back to 7.0.

3 crashes happened while ripping through presets in Nomad Factory plugins...7.0.
Or hold off using Nomad plugs?

NEVAH!

Actually, I'm going to have to do SOMETHING. I've now lost track of how many crashes. I was very careful about installing DP 7.01; I repaired permissions before and after. I had to rebuild the Audio Units Info Cache. I don't think the problem was in the installation. Though Nomad plugs have been involved in every crash, I could say the same for Altiverb, Waves, MOTU, and a dozen VI's. But if any plugins were suspicious, I'd have to agree that it's the Nomad Factory plugins, since I've been messing around in them so extensively. BUT... they did NOT do that in DP 7.0 on the two or three days that I was auditioning presets pretty much the same way I am now. So, what's causing this?

Will keep you posted on the developments, but I think it's now a matter of consensus. If others start reporting similar crashes that were not happening previously, then it might implicate DP 7.01. If they're all using Nomad Factory plugins at the time, then it might implicate the NF plugs. It all just remains to be seen. I'm not terribly worried... yet.

Hey Shooshie, sorry to hear about the crashes. I continue to get the same crashes I was getting in 7.0.

DP is not crashing on me when I select the main outputs for all of my VI's. That is, don't route any of your VI's to busses or auxes. You might try that and see what happens--and let us know! :)

I'm not set up for that kind of thing. For me it's output to busses or nothing. I mix the audio from the VI's just as I would if they were actual rack units coming into the sequence through an audio interface. But I was doing the same thing in DP 7.0, and it never crashed. I'm afraid there may be some corruption going on in a Preference or something like that.

I still think that your crashes are something unique to your system, though it would be impossible for me to guess what the problem is. The reason I think that is because most of us really had no crashes in DP 7.0. But it's possible that whatever caused the problem in your system could happen to any of us, and now that I've installed many more things, perhaps I've introduced a similar bug into my system.

It'll just take a lot more reports from everyone before we have enough of a consensus on which to base any conclusions.

I installed 7.01 this morning. Now I notice that I can't see all the text in Superior Drummer (for example, in the Groove section I see only the folders, no text).

Back to 7.0, everything is OK...

Early version of Superior Drummer right? Not 2.0, but first one. like 1.6 or whatever? I wish I could check this but I was cramped for space on a drive and with my other drum VIs I wasn't using Superior that much so I uninstalled it. I would report it to MOTU via tech-link and maybe Toontrack, but probably a fix has to come from MOTU since Superior is up to 2.0 now.

does 7.01 resolve the UAD plugin issue? if not I'll still have to wait.

I'm running Tiger. I thought that there was some issue with a bunch of plugins, not being able change the parameters.

Yesterday I was running DP7.0 with UAD no problem - then after installing DP 7.01, any project with UAD plugs hangs. I'm downloading the latest UAD plugs, so we'll see if that resolves the issue.

EDIT: THe latest UAD update resolved the issue. Phew!

It's possible PACE is doing something dumb, or iLock etc after you installed the update? I've generally had no problems with PACE, but it's not the most trouble free copy protection scheme.
I'm in fear of what will happen to my Vintage Studio Bundle plug ins that are duplicated in the Producer Pack in a few days when the demo runs out. Couldn't justify the Don't Krack sale at this time. :?
