Not able to sync tempo to Kontakt 3.5 in DP7

I just recently updated to DP7 (using as DAE front end)

I'm currently not able to have an instance of Kontakt 3.5 sync up with the conductor track tempo. Any time I load and instrument that is loop, I have to manually set the tempo in the instrument..

It would automatically lock BPM tempo in 5.13... any suggestions??

Oh no...I just tried it, and I get no sync, not only from Kontakt, but it won't sync RMX either. This is on 10.5.8.

It does work with DP7 and 10.4.11. I tried both kontakt and Leopard and it works fine there.
So it looks to be a Leopard issue. Bummer, because you need Leopard to use VE Pro. Which also explains why VE Pro wasn't locking to sync either. I was having issues with that, but I so busy setting up VE Pro that I didn't even bother to try sync in DP7 on Leopard. It had always been working, so I had no reason to assume that it would be broken.

So for once, this isn't a DAE thing, its a Leopard issue?

Yeah, well...it's a Leopard thing because it does work fine in Tiger, but it's also an RTAS thing because I doubt there is the same problem with AU or MAS in DP7 with Leopard, otherwise we would have heard the screaming by now.

I also tried Omnisphere and got the same result, although I did get EZ Drummer to lock, but non of the others. So some kind of data that Kontakt, Spectrasonics etc use for tempo is not getting out to the respective VI.

I sent MOTU a techlink regaurding this issue..

FYI, when I load Kontakt or RMX in PT8, tempo syncs correctly..

I talked on the phone with MOTU tech about this. They had me go through all my plugs to test them both in MAS and DAE and send the results. Oddly, none of them except EZ Drummer will sync, and this includes MOTU's Ethno.

Hopefully they will get a chance to fix it in the next update.

Both RMX and Kontakt 3.5 sync fine here in DP7 under SL (10.6.1) so it seems it is a Leopard issue.

I'm not on DP7 yet. Still on 5.13 in fact. And this may not apply. But for years I cursed that RMX wouldn't sync in DAE mode. Then I noticed it didn't sync in MAS mode either. Then I happened to change my tick resolution to 480 tics per quarter (instead of 960) - voila, it has synced beautifully ever since. Just figured I'd mention it.
