Setting up my 896 mk3 with logic 8

Post by bcampbe3 »

I'm composer and new to recording things myself. Recently bought a 896mk3 for my main interface and was hoping someone could help me set this up through logic correctly (the manual was pretty vague). Basically my problem is I can't get any sign that my mics are sending any signal to my interface. I've tested three mics (all condenser mics that require phantom power) and I am getting no signs that they working properly in Logic or CueMix. Any ideas? and I am switching up the 48v lever. Also what in Logic would allow me to switch between the main outs 1-2 (monitors) and the phones output? Thanks so much!

First thing I would ask is have you selected the 896 as the default device in the Preferences > Audio menu within Logic?
iMac G5 :: MOTU 896mk3 :: Logic Pro 8 :: Pro Tools LE 7.4
