MOTU ultralite mk2 + windows 7 x64

Post by Sammy »

Hi Guys,

I had windows vista x64 installed until recently (made an acronis backup image) and installed a clean copy of windows 7 x64. Using a MOTU ultralite mk2

It works only 10% of the time normaly, but the rest of the time....when I start my DAW or when I start TH1 (guitar amp + effects sim), I get this horrible low rumble/hum (only using my headphones for this until I feel *Safe*). also on the MOTU Audio Console > Ultralite (tab), I get a "1394 bandwidth not available" error.

ultralite firewire drivers: 64fw-3.6.8.1414

Any help or fixes most welcome.

Ok, I installed the older version drivers....but I've still had the same problem with 100% noise from my MOTU Ultralite MK2.

The small fix I can see is to end the "MOTU Pedal Handler" process in the task manager. working for the moment. (although I deleted the actual startup link for it in a previous install...didn't work) but for the moment, once its loaded at startup and you manually stop it... it seems to fix the problem) I've tested this 3 times in as many days and so far seems to work.

I had quite a few problems until I changed my FW adapter. It was Texas Instr. like advertised on the main site, but I got BSODs all over the place. I use another (*old Sound Blaster Audigy's FW throughoutput ?!*) and it runs perfectly. I figured that if I change it for some VIA or similar the problem might be there or maybie not, but then again - this way works like a charm.

So, in short - try some other FW adapter - just to be shure...
