Exporting Standard MIDI File from DP-5.13 ?

Post by cpeiv »

Hello; Need help exporting a standard MIDI file (drum track) from DP-5.13. I'm able to do it via instructions in the manual. However, I'd like it to show up as a MIDI file ala: Groove Monkey, etc. MIDI files with the Quicktime icon and word MIDI on the "folder". So when you double click on it, it opens up in Quicktime player and can be easily imported into other apps. Showing my ignorance here. Midiot. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks... cpeiv

Hi cpelv,

Click on the MIDI file once, select Get Info from the File menu, click on the arrow where it says Open With and select QuickTime as default app.

For the folder, if I get your meaning right, go to File Menu-> New Folder and an Untitled Folder is created. It should be already highlighted for you. If not, just click and hold for a second or 2 on the word Untitled Folder and type MIDI.

Thank you adriano; I should have known that. Now if I can just get the files to play a quicktime music DRUM synthesizer instead of the piano.

When you saved the MIDI drum file from DP, before that, did you make sure that the drum track was set to channel/part 10?
