1.4.23 Drivers Anyone?
Anything lost or gained? After being burned on the MIDI connection bug on 1.4.2, I am tempted to sit this one out for a while.

Can't answer your question as to lost or gained, but I just pulled my old iMac G4 out of mothballs to use for an off-site recording. I installed 10.4.11, DP 6.02, the 1.4.23 drivers and recorded using my old 828. Worked flawlessly for audio. I haven't tried any MIDI on it.

But how does the FW audio driver have an effect on MIDI?

Can't say for sure, but I assume it is because it is actually a FW interface driver.Dwetmaster wrote:But how does the FW audio driver have an effect on MIDI?

Yeah, the 828 series have MIDI jacks on them. The driver has to address these, as well as the audio IO. MOTU may have performed a secret fix to the last release, as when I reinstalled it at MOTU's suggestion, all was well in MIDI-land. I have noticed a bug wherein if on closes the CueMix window, the CueMix software must be restarted to get the window open again.

Are you sure? After you close the mixer window, you can reopen it by selecting the interface name in the Devices menu.HCMarkus wrote:I have noticed a bug wherein if on closes the CueMix window, the CueMix software must be restarted to get the window open again.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.
