Front Panel Meters

Post by Jer »

I know this is a broad question, but where should the input meters be if I have the input trim knob turned over 3/4 up? Right now it is at (24) or 3 marks up. Only when I turn it up almost completely all the way up do I get above this. Is this right? This is the same whether I am using a line input or a mic input. I have also tried different mics, cables sources, etc.

Unfortunately there are two many variables from one user to the next to compare readings. Some microphones have a lower output than others, nevermind the varying sound level of the source you are measuring with.

For example, some microphone/source combinations may only require that the trims are turned up only about 25%, whereas other sources may require nearly 100% gain and still not be high enough.
