Also how do you uninstall crap... it's installing the Bechstein 24bit. I don't want pianos... maybe I can run the Installer and do an uninstall? Ugh...

You could alternately clone the drives into partitions on the larger drive. It'll mean swapping out the drives and running a cloner, but it could be done in an automated process you'd have to 'check in on' every couple of beers. It'll also mean a few hours (and more beer). I wouldn't do it mid or pre project.

Wow... that sounds interesting. It's really the darned hassles with the plugs and such. If I could get say a even a 500GB drive and partition into two 250GB partitions, I could retstore my current 250GB boot drie to one partition, reinstall all my VI libraries on the other 250GB new partition. I just don't want to start from scratch, because that can be so hit and miss. Ugh...

P.S. I ended up deleting DFHS Superior's 35GB sample library off my boot drive because I usually only do drum for demo purposes for a real drummer and Addictive Drums is working fine for me there. Not even sure if I'll upgrade to Superior 2.0 anyway. So I'm back to about 64GB free space on my 250GB drive, so I think I'm in the safe zone again for now.

I'm installing mine now. I guess I'll use the second drive in my Mac, and maybe put a third one dedicated for writing audio to. I'm pretty excited, I was wanting some new synths- the only ones I had were the stock ones in Logic and DP, and I guess Pro Tools 8- I never use that. Great price.

What do you guys think of Massive? This is the only one that really interests me. I have Kontakt 3 and Komplete Classic Keys, but Absynth and Reaktor never really did it for me.

Seems to still be available via the NI webstore.
However they are probably selling boatloads. They seem swamped, they still haven't charged my credit card, ordered a week ago. Says that slight shipping delays are to expected though. But I want it NOW have a week off and would be perfect to play around with some new stuff then ;-)

EDIT: now the money on my account that seemed to be reserved for the transaction is available to me again. Can this mean they've cancelled the order? Or is this usual when it comes to online purcheses? (never happened to me before). I don't have actual credit on my VISA, can only use it if there's money on my account... Maybe it can only be 'reserved' for a week or so then the bank makes it available again? The support link in my confermation mail didn't work either... I'm confused...

If someone doesn't want their copy of Absynth 3, let me know and I'll buy it from you. I already bought all the NI stuff I need over the years...except for this one VI. Figure maybe I'll get it cheaper from someone who has no use for it.

Not sure if it would be "legal" unless it has its own serial and installer. Then I suppose it would be. Anyone know?

There's only one serial number, and it didn't look to me like it would be easy or even possible to skip the install of one of the synths. I don't think it would be very practical for anyone to sell you their Absynth, sorry to say.

I did this exact thing once (on a PC). I had a 250 GB drive from my VI samples and it was getting full. I copied everything (including NI Komplete, EWQLSO XP Gold, and a buncha other stuff) to another drive, removed the 250 internal drive and replaced it w/ a 750 GB drive and copied everything to it. It was a while ago and I don't remember all the details, but I remember it all went surprisingly painlessly.

I remember I wrote to NI first to ask if I could do this and they said yes. And it worked just as they said. I didn't have to reauthorize or reinstall anything. I think the only thing was I had to give the drive the new drive the same name as the old one.

(I still have the 250 GB drive on a shelf in my closet. I suppose that makes it a partial backup, if I ever needed it.)

Best,
Babz
